On-line course in Conscious Self-Care by Amie Camie

Karen Ashbrook, CMP, will offer her 8-week Mystery of Modes Course, Tuesday evenings and Wednesday afternoons (Eastern/New York TIme), starting February 22 and 23. The course is 12.5 classroom hours, and includes weekly assignments, a pdf booklet and audio and video files of all the music in the book.  Classes will be recorded for participants. This course covers the sound, chord progressions and melodies of the 6 modes of music used by therapeutic musicians.  There is an emphasis in getting "off the page" and several pentatonic scales are covered to help with improvising.  Harmonic Minor and its mode–the Hijaz/Freygish/Dominant Phrygian scale–will be covered.  The course is geared to harps and hammered dulcimers, but many other instruments (including voice) will benefit from the course. The price for the course is $300 if people register by January 6th, and then goes up to $350 after that. Registration is through MHTP at https://www.mhtp.org/mhtp-events/2022/2/22/mystery-of-modesFor questions/information contact: Karen Ashbrook, CMP cell 301-655-0103  mail@karenashbrook.com  https://karenashbrook.com
